WHAT DOES ENGRAVING LOOK LIKE AT EVENTS?
When people hear Live Engraving for the first time, they usually look at me and as: “Wait, so you actually do that on the spot???” The answer is yes, and it’s one of the most fun things I get to do.
If you’ve never seen or experienced it, let me take you behind the curtains.
Setting the Scene
See a beautiful but simple set up and a luxury boutique or a pop-up activation. Guests are welcomed to come to me after picking up their free gift or purchase (a fragrance, lipstick, or even a champagne flute) and then I step in with my engraving and personalisation tools.
The personalisation/engraving station itself feels like a little studio tucked inside of the event: clean display, soft lighting and my trusty engraver ready to transform an item/product into something personal!
The Process
Here’s what actually happens
The Conversation
A guest chooses what they’d like to be engraved - usually a name, initials or a short message. This moment is always personal because they’ll often share the story behind their choice. Sometimes it’s a gift, a treat for themselves (my favourite ;) ) or a dedication to someone special.
The Customization
I take the item (a glass fragrance bottle, a metal lipstick tube, or even a mirror compact) and freehand engrave it with a precision tool. The process is delicate, quick, efficient, and mesmerizing to watch. You can see the letters appear, stroke by stroke watching the calligraphy unfold but on glass or metal instead of paper.
The Reveal
Guests often lean in with anticipation, wanting to take picture or film their item getting personalised. There’s always a sparkle of excitement when they see the finished product. That “wow” moment is the reasons brands bring me in. It transforms a purchase or a gift into a true keepsake.
The Atmosphere
Live engraving isn’t just about the final product - it’s about the energy it brings into the room. People gather to watch, ask questions, and take photos/videos. The act itself becomes an experience: guests aren’t just shopping, they’re a part of creating something in real time.
It’s interactive, intimate, and memorable which is exactly what brands are looking for when they want to connect more deeply with their clients.
